The Rehoboth Guest House Bed and Breakfast Renovations

After much anticipation, Frank and Garrett, Innkeeper  Tom Kelch and the Guest House staff are happy to announce that after three long months we have now completed our first phase of renovations, and since January 1, 2014 we reopened for business.

In October 2013, we started with the outside changing the appearance of the front from white siding to a beautiful dark grey siding. To complete the new look for this unique property, we added lovely yellow and white striped awnings and a yellow and white striped valence that wraps around the front porch. To showcase the front porch at night, we have added recessed lighting along the ceiling of the front wall that gives the porch a wonderful dimly lit area to enjoy at night. We have added two large lanterns that stay lit 24hrs a day on either side of the original front door that is now painted in a glossy white. For added comfort on those hot and buggy summer days, we installed three ceiling fans centered over the front porch seating areas and new porch swing. The front porch has been one of the most popular features of the Guest House.

Interior Common Spaces

Starting with comfort, we installed a new HVAC system for the Kitchen, Living room, dining room and all hallways. This will keep these areas cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

The Guest House now has a new chef’s kitchen that our continental breakfast is served in. Innkeepers Steve and Tom bake fresh goodies each day with an added egg dish to top it off. We also have a separate coffee station.

Guests can now dine in our new dining room which used to be the living room. We have added a wonderful large round dining table that will make it easy for guests to mingle and get to know each other.

Our warm and inviting living room is formally the sun porch breakfast area. We removed the wall separating the living room and sun porch, raised the sun porch floor and continued the beautiful hard wood floors that are now refinished in a beautiful walnut color. The living room now has comfortable furniture and plenty of room for guests to relax in and watch tv on our 50” flat screen tv, or to get together with friends or other guests. This is a wonderful space to retreat to in the off season. Guests have really been enjoying this new area.

At the end of our 1st floor hallway, we have a new kitchenette area that has a microwave, water cooler and new ice machine for the guests to use. Guest can find various treats all during the day.

The Guest Rooms

Each guest room is unique and now painted in warm colors with white wood work. The windows all have new beautiful wood plantation blinds. For the off season, baseboard heat has been added to each room. All rooms now have 32” flat screen LED TV’s, alarm clock IPOD radios and room sized refrigerators. All full size beds have brand new mattresses.

Since you are on our website you have noticed that the website is new and now displaying current pictures.

Our next phase of renovations are being planned now. In the coming years, attentions will be paid to the back two decks and exterior siding. This spring we look forward to landscaping.

Since we reopened we have been having an amazing busy off season. We thank everyone for their support and look forward to seeing everyone in the spring and summer.
